Alex started another year of preschool yesterday, Buzz Lightyear backpack and lunchbox in hand. He had absolutely no hesitation as he walked in (he didn't last year either); the teacher had to remind him to say goodbye to me. This year he's in class with Gavin, Isaiah, and Casey, and I have my fingers crossed that they won't get into too much trouble together. When I picked him up yesterday, his first words were, "The teacher had to move me away from Gavin." I asked why, and he said, "We weren't keeping our hands to ourselves." I asked, "Were you fighting?" to which he replied, "No, we were just touching." I said, "I don't understand. Were you poking each other? Were you touching because you were mad at each other?" He said, "No, we were touching because we love each other." Okey-dokey.

First day of Pre-K

- My husband and I have been married for 11 years, but we've been together for 19 years - over half our lives! We moved from east Texas to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in 1998. I became a stay-at-home mom a few months after our oldest son, Alex, was born in 2004, though I do work a few hours each week while he and our youngest son, Owen (born in 2006) are sleeping. Although I know I'll have to go back to work full-time once they start school, for now I plan to cherish the days of getting out of bed at 8am, lazy mornings spent at the park, and sharing every meal together.
